Lenovo Statement on ThinkPad X1 Carbon Recall

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Lenovo is voluntarily recalling selected ThinkPad X1 Carbon 5^th Generation laptops manufactured between December 2016 and October 2017. Lenovo has determined that a limited number of systems may have an unfastened screw in the affected laptops that can damage the battery causing overheating, potentially posing a fire hazard. 
  
In the interests of public safety, effective immediately, Lenovo is offering free service inspections for all affected ThinkPad X1 Carbon 5^th Generation laptops manufactured between the dates as stated above.
