Memoir encapsulates experiences and learnings of a woman teaching in an all-black high school

Pineville, Louisiana – WEBWIRE

Teaching is a noble pursuit—a profession that requires tremendous amounts of patience and openness toward various people.

Teaching is a noble pursuit—a profession that requires tremendous amounts of patience and openness toward various people. This is especially true for Dianne H. Lundy, who was among the first white teachers in her high school system to teach among black students. She shares her amazing journey in her memoir, The Girl from Nip ’n’ Tuck.

Dianne Lundy only wanted two things: an ideal job and the perfect man. Her quest for the two turned out to require more than skill and charm, and so during times when she felt overwhelmed, she put her trust in God. However, her life turned around when she was chosen to teach in two all-black high schools. Growing up in a segregated society, her experience had brought her invaluable lessons and changed her into a wise, savvy, and strong woman.

An Amazon customer says, “[The author] told stories that showed her loyalty to family, her dreams, her sad times, her struggles, her finding humor in it all, [and] her determination.”
