Katie wants to get out of Texas and longs to move to California but needs to stay behind for college. Alan, on the other hand, plans to play football at Florida State but cannot stay away from the shadows of his family as they want to move with him. Amidst all that’s happening around them, Katie discovers that she has feelings for Alan.
 
Will their friendship blossom into a relationship? Will Alan reciprocate her feelings? Can they cope to go their separate ways after all the years that they were inseparable?
