Powering through Pain
How to attain spiritual and emotional healing from chronic illnesses
“It is my desire to highlight critical challenges one faces in a battle with illness and to help those who are not chronically ill better communicate and connect with those living in illness,”
Sometimes, illnesses not only leave its traces physically. Conditions such as long-term illnesses have a damaging effect on one’s spirituality. This subject hits close to home with Scott R. Hinshaw, who highlights it in his book, “I’m Too Sick to Feel Spiritual.”
Having battled and witnessed long-term illnesses himself, Scott knows what it’s like to face the spiritual and emotional issues that come with them. Aside from describing the issues themselves, the book also discusses its effects and how to power through them.
The book is aimed at middle-aged and older citizens struggling with chronic conditions. Individuals who live with them and wish to aid them will find the author’s insights and experiences quite helpful. “It is my desire to highlight critical challenges one faces in a battle with illness and to help those who are not chronically ill better communicate and connect with those living in illness,” says Scott.
“I’m Too Sick to Feel Spiritual” was featured at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2017. The event was held at the Messe Frankfurt in Germany from October 11 to 15.
