“The Elephant in the Room” examines how holidays are celebrated in Jewish and Christian household. Inspired by her granddaughter’s experience, Loeb decided to write a book to promote sensitivity and teach children that differences should not drive people apart. The book aims to reconcile Christmas and Chanukah traditions and help build a new tradition, so interfaith families can enjoy the festivities together.
Lucy Ravich, a former teacher and close friend of Loeb, was persistent in her encouragement and support to have the book published.
Lucille, an Amazon customer, gives this book five stars and describes it as “a charming, delightful book with fabulous illustrations.” Another Amazon customer comments that “young children will love the illustrations and understand the story, older children will cherish the book as an annual family tradition.”
“The Elephant in the Room” was showcased in LitFire Publishing’s booth at the 2017 AJC Decatur Book Festival, from September 1 to 3, which took place at East Court Square, Decatur, Georgia.
