Exposing Injustice and Criminality

According to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), human trafficking is a problem that affects almost every country worldwide. Military veteran Dennis Quiles seeks to raise awareness of this criminal industry in his novel “Ordainment Betrayal.”

On the night he proposes, Jack Steele, a former naval intelligence officer, and his fiancée, Martha, encounter a bloodied and frightened young man. Martha attempts to protect the young man, but she gets caught in the crossfire and dies. Seeking justice, Jack Steele finds himself pursuing an Albanian mob involved in human trafficking. Wanting to put a stop to this evil, Jack teams up with a police detective from Chicago to free those caught in the mob’s web. But then Jack and the detective encounter an even more powerful enemy—the Roman Catholic Church.

Pacific Book Review commended Quiles for doing “a good job of keeping readers longing for the ultimate reckoning and hopefully exceedingly painful retribution.” Another review from the US Review of Books found the novel to be “a suspenseful thriller that explores dark secrets and twisted desires.”

“Ordainment Betrayal” was featured in LitFire Publishing’s booth at the 33rd Miami Book Fair. The eight-day trade fair was held from November 12 to 19.

Dennis Quiles is a veteran of the US Armed Forces. He has also enjoyed a career in the protection business for more than thirty years. As of press time, he is the director of global security for a large multinational corporation. The military veteran and father of three lists hiking, reading, and writing as his hobbies.
