New Adobe Digital School Collection Brings Learning to Life for K-12 Educators and Students

Curriculum and Training Materials for Teachers Complement the Latest in Imaging, Video, Web and Document Software

SAN JOSE, Calif. — Oct. 5, 2006 — Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE) today announced the new Adobe Digital School Collection, aimed at providing digital communication solutions to K-12 schools. The collection brings together four powerful software applications to create an easy-to-use solution for teachers, students and school administrators: Adobe® Photoshop® Elements 5.0, Adobe Premiere® Elements 3.0, Adobe Contribute™ 4, and Adobe Acrobat® 8 Professional software. A Teacher Resource CD enhances the collection by providing additional resources such as professionally developed lesson plans and tutorials to help educators quickly integrate digital learning into their curricula.

The Adobe Digital School Collection provides students and teachers with the tools to create rich digital images and video content, Web sites, blogs and collaborative documents for a variety of school and classroom projects. Key components of the Adobe Digital School Collection include:

Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0 plus Adobe Premiere Elements 3.0 - The combination of these two powerful, yet easy-to-use software applications means students can edit photos and videos to turn ordinary book reports and video documentaries into more compelling and imaginative presentations. Adobe Photoshop Elements software allows students to share photos in engaging ways with interactive Adobe Flash® based online galleries or create time-lapse movies or animations with Adobe Premiere Elements to express concepts in subjects such as science, math and literature. The combination of Adobe Photoshop Elements plus Adobe Premiere Elements means students can experiment with fun video effects and transitions for photo slideshows, dramatic pauses to videos with freeze-frame effects; and create professional-looking quality DVDs with menus, scene indexes and printed CD & DVD labels and covers.

Adobe Acrobat 8 - Acrobat software will help teachers create and distribute curriculum, media-rich lesson plans, and homework assignments electronically to improve classroom efficiency and enhance communication among parents, students and faculty. Acrobat provides a simple way for anyone to open and view documents on a Mac® or Windows® PC. The familiar commenting tools in Adobe Reader® software give students a quick way to review and collaborate on projects, while the streamlined grading and record-keeping process saves teachers time. Textbook pages, photos, video, and audio files can be combined into a single PDF for compelling ePortfolios or classroom presentations.

Adobe Contribute 4 - With Adobe Contribute 4 software, web site administrators can provide authoring permission for select educators and students to post ongoing fresh content, including Flash video, to school Web sites and blogs. Because Contribute enables users to update multiple Web sites and blogs from a single application, it makes the process easy enough for anyone with basic computer skills. Users can easily drag and drop new files making updates directly from within the browser or Microsoft Office applications.

Teacher Resource CD - The CD includes lesson plans around core subjects such as science, civics and history. It also includes tutorials and technical guides, sample images and a video library. Teachers will learn more about pedagogical and methodological approaches to teaching and assessing digital communication skills across the curriculum.
