Joan Parks Delivers a Splendidly Written Romantic Novel Laced with Action and Suspense

“The Gold of the North,” a novel by Joan H. Parks, tells the story of young man and woman’s love in the midst of a brewing war. Alimah, the heroine, decides to stay in The Land of the One River to continue learning more of her arts. Her desire to develop her gifts for song and dance was pursued. Living near the school with her uncle and a band of protectors, they encountered several mysterious attacks that were all aimed at Alimah. The story revolves around the romance created by two young lovers and the depth of their responsibilities to their own respective kin.
 
“The Gold of the North” is a very well-written novel with twists like no other. The romance was swirled with mysterious and tragic elements to make them more alluring to the readers. This novel is a must-have for avid fiction and romance novel fans. This is a great addition to one’s shelf collection.
 
“The Gold of the North” is one of the titles expected to be displayed at the 2018 New York Rights Fair, which will take place on May 30, 2018.

Joan H. Parks lives in Chicago, IL, and after a career in clinical research refreshed her life by becoming a fiction writer. Her undergraduate degree was from the University of Rochester in Non-Western Civilizations, her MBA from the University of Chicago. She studies poetry, including Yeats and Canterbury Tales (in Middle English); has an interest in the ancient world which she has gratified by studying at the Oriental Institute of the University of Chicago; is an aficionado of the Tales of Genji, which she rereads every year or so. Her family regards these activities with amusement, for she also listens to Willie Nelson and Dierks Bentley.
