Carla C. Ohse Pens Book about a Woman Protagonist Who Enters into a Male Dominance World of Crimes, Battles and Gender Injustice

Deborah Miller, a Manhattan judge, leaves her comfortable lifestyle and defies all obstacles in pursuing her mission to free exploited and abused women in an undisclosed refugee camp in Northern Israel.  The author sets her novel in Israel for purpose of location and acknowledges that stories of atrocities inflicted upon woman may occur in any country world-wide, sadly enough.
 
Judge Miller is assigned to a government appointed guide, Lieutenant Barak Cohen who is equally strong-willed and unhappy to be a woman’s “sightseeing guide”.  The resiliency of the human spirit in “Into the Hand of a Woman” portrays the struggles of these two heroes.  The story escalates into a journey of insurmountable odds for the duo to verify the secrecy of imprisoning women. Together they uncover a slave trade operation by confronting, in battle, Sisera, the corrupt, abusive, and rogue Israeli officer behind it all.
 
Ohse’s plot and characters are loosely adapted from the Bible’s Old Testament book of Judges, chapters four and five.  The story, retold by Ohse in the 21st century, makes for a page-turning tale of subject matter prevalent today.  Ohse’s modern Deborah may be an epitome of what any woman would want to achieve in their lifetime.

About the Author
Carla Ohse lives with her husband, Robert in the villages of Custer and Fountain in Western Michigan. Carla graduated from Michigan State University in 1963 with a Bachelor of Arts degree and taught elementary school in the Lansing area and after marriage taught at Mason County Eastern School in Custer, Michigan. When children, Ryan, Margaretha and George came along, Carla chose to be full-time mom. The couple has farmed in Mason County for over forty-seven years, and as of this writing,

Robert is still farming. This is Carla Ohse’s third novel. Her novels are women based with subject matter that invites both genders of all ages to read.
