A family that helps each other survive strong together.

“The Family Album” by Veronica Gamburg is an emotional, strong and inspiring piece of memory. It narrates the story of a strong family who, during the time when the country’s state was dark and difficult, resides in Russia. The book recalls the details of a very rich history through photos, with photographs taken centuries ago. Devastating and heartbreaking stories of families who were trying and struggling to survive during the time of the Great Purge, the Russian Revolution and the Great Patriotic War are told. However disheartening the story has been depicted in the book, it still showcases a touch of hope, excitement and patriotism. It gives the readers a different and inspiring impression of history and it shows the readers how strong the human spirit is and how amazing the surviving capacity of human is.
