Pastor Ralph Mosgrove to Inspire a Spirit of Gratitude among Attendees at the Upcoming 2018 ALA Annual Exhibit

Ralph Mosgrove, the author of “Saying Thanks and Beyond: Is Saying Thank You Enough?” (Archway, 2017), confirmed his participation at the upcoming 2018 American Library Association Annual (ALAA) Conference on June 23, 2017, at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, LA. He will not only sign autographs but also interact with attendees, most especially avid readers of Christian literature, and impart his reflections on gratitude.
 
“Saying Thanks and Beyond” instills in readers a sense of gratitude that goes beyond uttering the words “thank you” which, though it creates a positive reaction in the mind of the person spoken to, is often an idle response to someone’s concern or desire to help. The author said: “There is a way to offer a response that shows your appreciation for kind deeds, exceeding what others would expect.”
 
To stress his point, he provides an example: “What if we were to add phrases such as ‘That was such a big help,’ or, ‘You certainly made that easy for me. When you tell someone ‘You made my day,’ he or she feels good about helping you and leaves with a smile or feeling of satisfaction.”
 
The author exhorts his readers to incorporate words of encouragement when expressing gratitude, especially to people they would not see again, as such response will inspire them to make a difference in the lives of more people. “We all have an arsenal of comments we could use to express our gratitude to individuals extending this helping hand. Try telling them how much you needed their help, like, ‘I couldn’t have made it without you,’ or, ‘Someday it will come back to you.’ You reinforce their spirits of generosity, helping them to keep passing it on.”

Mosgrove is scheduled to meet and greet attendees of the 2018 ALA Annual trade show on June 23, 2018 at 2:30-3:30 PM.
