Business expert Robert Craven has partnered with Barclays Bank (http://www.barclays.co.uk ) to run a further 20 free workshops throughout the UK during October and November to help businesses set themselves up to increase their profit and improve their marketing.

John Davis, marketing director for local business at Barclays says, “ Our research shows that eight in 10 small business owners want to dedicate more time on developing their business; this workshop will certainly help delegates to do exactly that and focus on building a successful and profitable business.”

Robert Craven, who will be delivering the workshops, says, “The Let’s Talk Bright Marketing and Let’s Talk More Profit (http://www.barclays.co.uk/seminars/moreprofit/) workshops are a brilliant opportunity to step back, think about what you are trying to do and start to make decisions that will fundamentally improve the profitability of your business.”

What delegates from a seminar run earlier in the year had to say: Nigel Burton from Freebird New Media, who attended the Preston workshop says: ”The most important idea we implemented from the seminar was talking to customers about what they did and didn’t like about Freebird – this was definitely a pain barrier in some cases, but has improved the relationship with existing customers dramatically... we get a significant portion of our increased turnover from those customers. In addition, we binned some of our more difficult, high maintenance clients leaving us free to invest more time and energy into the ones who treated us with more respect. Last year we were £150,000 turnover – we look set to double that this year and to hit the half a million mark by year end ‘07.”
Lesley Lant of Perennial, a marketing consultancy in east London, said: ”From your initial idea of asking for more business our invoicing to one key client increased by 50%”.
