Children’s Author Shares Extraordinary Storytelling in New Book

Remarkable storytellers were also eager and attentive listeners of stories themselves. Arthur Gordon Brenckle and his brother and sisters were once eager audiences to the wonderful stories of their father. Inheriting the mantle of storytelling from his father, Brenckle now shares his extraordinary gift to a wider audience of children and young readers by publishing his book, “The Tale of the Walking Rock: The Adventures of Sleepy Ann and Sam, Momma Kitty and China.”

A flash of inspiration came to Brenckle after he watched a nature show on Discovery Channel, and a great idea came to his mind: writing “The Tale of the Walking Rock.” The story revolves around the fear of the unknown — something children as well as grownups can relate with. Nevertheless, children will have something to smile about because the story teaches them to make their own adventures and value the friendships they build.
 
“The Tale of the Walking Rock” is a wonderful book that caters the needs of modern children. The story is delightfully imaginative, the characters are colorful and adventurous and the lessons learned suit the needs of the modern young readers and listeners. This book is guaranteed to leave a mark in the memories of children.
 
Thanks to the 2017 Guadalajara Intl Book Fair last November 25, “The Tale of the Walking Rock” became a wonderful early holiday treat for children.

About the Author
A.G. Brenckle lives on a small farm in Colorado. He has farmed, built log homes, rode ditch, ran heavy equipment, and rough necked in the oil field. His two daughters and three grandchildren live near him. He started writing stories for his grandchildren. A. G.’s storytelling stems from his father, who was a schoolteacher. He would tell A. G., his brother and sisters bedtime stories when they were young. His stories would consist of places he had been, things he had done, and make believe characters. A. G. has used these traits along with imagination, to create “The Adventures of Sleepy Ann and Sam” series. Some of these are fairy tales; some are educational and were written in storybook form to make learning more fun and memorable. They are all written from the heart and meant to fill the reader with joy and happiness, and stir the imagination.
