MELBOURNE, Florida, October 2, 2006 — Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS), the world leader in spaceborne unfurlable mesh reflectors, today announced that it has successfully completed the design review for two 9-meter reflectors that will be used onboard the XM Satellite Radio satellite that is being manufactured by Space Systems/Loral (SS/L). Featuring a gold mesh reflective surface, each Harris antenna reflector stows much like an umbrella for launch into space. When the satellite achieves operational orbit, ground controllers send a command signal to the satellite to unfurl the reflectors. The reflectors will be manufactured at Harris facilities in Palm Bay, Florida.

“We continue to achieve solid successes in the development, manufacture, and on-orbit operation of our unfurlable mesh reflectors,” said Russ Haney, president of the National Programs business unit of Harris Government Communications Systems Division. “This milestone is a very important achievement for the Harris team as we continue to leverage our number one position in unfurlable mesh reflectors for government applications into the commercial satellite market. We are pleased to be supporting XM Satellite Radio’s XM-5 satellite and look forward to continued success throughout this program.”
