TietoEnator acquires Swedish IT company Laps Care AB

21 September 2006 - TietoEnator has acquired Swedish Laps Care AB from parent company Optimal Solutions AB. Laps Care specialises in IT support for resource optimisation in elderly care, home care and home nursing. The company has eight employees and operations in Stockholm, Linköping and Malmö. The agreement means that TietoEnator supplements its portfolio of solutions and services for care operations and broadens its customer base in the field. The acquisition is effective as of 1 October 2006.

The company’s product, Laps Care, has a growing number of customers, showing that advanced mathematical models for planning and optimisation can be combined with user-friendliness and customer benefit in a complex and varied operation. Laps Care meets the need for the right personnel for each occasion, task and location. The tool has been developed in close cooperation with home help services and offers a comprehensive approach to operations planning, while cost effectively exploiting all resources to the benefit of patients.
