Serra Ventures’ Company Oso Technologies, Inc. Acquired By the Scotts Miracle-Gro Company

Champaign, IL (December 12, 2016) – Oso Technologies, creator of a robust Internet of Things soil moisture sensor, Plant Link, was acquired by the Scotts Miracle-Gro Company, (NYSE: SMG), the world’s leading marketer of branded consumer lawn and garden products, on December 8, 2016. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The Serra team had worked closely with Oso Technologies from its original incorporation, providing the majority of the company’s financing in addition to providing strategic and operational guidance for over four years.
