Hamiltonís mother overcame a blood clot and autoimmune skin disease at the age of ninety-six. Out of these events Hamilton started tracing back at her life and decided to write this book. The book details Hamiltonís life as a student, battle with multiple sclerosis, her advocacy in the community, and the struggles she shared with her mother, who was sickly most of the time.
