Her dedication to children and her teaching profession inspired Margee Minter to write her own book. "I no longer teach in schools, but I still like to share stories to children. Through this book, I hope to reach all the children in the world,"

On August 24–28 this year, the Beijing International Book Fair conducted its 23rd edition. Among the books that will be featured in the fair is Margee Minter’s Ollie’s Unlucky Day.

In the story, Lucky, the cat, and Ollie, the dog, have been friends for a very long time. They have enjoyed playing together and being in each other’s company. On Ollie’s fifth birthday, his mother plans a surprise birthday party. She invites all his doggie friends but leaves out Lucky. Lucky wants to join his friend’s party so he decides to gate-crash it, and what happens next will surprise not only the birthday celebrant.

Her dedication to children and her teaching profession inspired Margee Minter to write her own book. “I no longer teach in schools, but I still like to share stories to children. Through this book, I hope to reach all the children in the world,” she says.

A copy of this book was displayed at LitFire’s booth during the Beijing International Book Fair last August 24 to 28, 2016. The event was held at the China International Exhibition Center.
