Two Children’s Moving Experiences in World War II Shared in International Book Fair
Judith M. Leftoff tells a story of two very different children who survived the ravages of war.
“This book is both informative and inspiring. To follow the events of World War II in Europe from two such different experiences is an exciting and insightful revelation.”
Innocent children, more often than not, are the silent victims of war. Here’s a book entitled Two Daniels by Judith M. Leftoff, which tells the story of two boys who are both coincidentally named Daniel and their individual experiences during World War II. The meeting of the two Daniels depicts the intrinsic bonds of religion and yearning for family.
One Daniel is an American who speaks German, so he is chosen for special training. But he finds himself with four absconding German soldiers when he misses a rendezvous behind enemy lines. The other Daniel is a Jewish child who is saved by sympathizers until he ends up in a cave in France, where he aids to hide artworks. An Amazon customer reviewer shares that, “This book is both informative and inspiring. To follow the events of World War II in Europe from two such different experiences is an exciting and insightful revelation.”
Two Daniels was displayed at the 2016 Beijing International Book Fair from August 24 to 29, at the China International Exhibition Center in Beijing, China.
