Originally written as an essay, Born to Create is the inspirational memoir of Dr. Rosalie H. Contino that highlights her career transition to pursue her passion to make creative works from serving as an English teacher. Continos’s autobiography teaches the readers to reach for their lifelong dreams and passions.

In the book’s preface, author Contino says that her book “answers the question of what to do when you think you have done it all and you’re still not satisfied with your accomplishments.”  Following Oprah Winfrey’s advice to look back on one’s childhood and contemplate on what one really wanted to do, the author has found true meaning of her life by doing her first love: the arts.

Rosalie now pursues her passion to create as a costume designer, costume consultant, and costume lecturer with immeasurable joy.

About the Author

Dr. Rosalie H. Contino is an Italian American who holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Fordham University, and master’s and doctorate degrees in educational theater from New York University. Her plays Transitions in Taking Care of Daddy, Twixt ’n’ Teen, and Lights Out! obtained honorable mentions from the Writers Digest of Playwriting Contests. She has also written articles on creative writing and dramatics and poems about nature. Contino lives in Brooklyn, New York.
