Sysmex America’s Laboratory on Wheels

Mundelein, IL (September 15, 2006) - In order to provide rural and small to mid-size hospitals throughout the country an opportunity to view Sysmex equipment demonstrations at their door steps and to speak with Sysmex Representatives , Sysmex America has launched a travel tour for a customized motor coach containing most of Sysmex’s laboratory products. To learn when the “Sysmex Express” is scheduled to stop in your area, please call Sysmex America at 800-379-7639 x4396 or 847-996-4396.

"The benefit of the Sysmex Express to hospitals is that it enables entire hospital equipment purchase decision making teams – from the Medical Technologist and Laboratory Manager to the Pathologist and Chief Financial Officer – to view clinical laboratory equipment demonstrations simultaneously. This allows for an environment of open discussion among the key players involved in the acquisition decision"said Ron Walczak, Director of Marketing Communications at Sysmex America. Hospitals also realize the benefits of reduced spending on travel and related expenses, while employees’ time away from work is minimized, added Walczak.

The vehicle houses a conference room and a lab area containing the Sysmex XE-AlphaN™ Integrated Hematology System (comprised of the state-of-the-art XE-2100 hematology analyzer and a SP-1000islide preparation unit). Featured along with the XE-AlphaN™ are the XT-2000i™ stand-alone hematology analyzer, designed for mid-sized laboratories, the pocH-100i, an ultra-compact 3-part analyzer which is suitable for clinics and satellite labs, and the UF-100i™ Fully Automated Urine Cell Analyzer.

Also on board the vehicle is the Sysmex XS-1000i™ Automated Hematology Analyzer (with auto loader), Sysmex’s newest hematology analyzer which recently received FDA clearance for use in clinical laboratories and physician offices. The Sysmex motor coach is driven by 30-year company employee Bob Putnam.

"Sysmex is truly in a unique position of being able to offer the same state-of-the-art, technology platform to any size laboratory. Whether it’s a small laboratory or a larger institution, we are the only manufacturer that can offer access to the same powerful diagnostic capabilities, including our fluorescent flow technology, across the instrument range" added Walczak.

The Sysmex Express was custom-designed and built by Winnebago Industries, Inc., who sets and maintains the strictest quality controls possible and whose products are subjected to the rigorous testing.
