The Effects of a Bold Career Change Detailed in Autobiography

As other forty-year-old professionals busy themselves solidifying the foundation of the career they have built for many years, Rosalie Contino took a different turn. Retiring from her teaching job, she went off to chase her true passion—to create.

In her book, Born to Create, she recounts her bold career change and her journey toward being the one thing that she has always dreamed of being—an artist. Contino aims to encourage her readers to never let go of their dreams because it is never too late to fulfill them.

The book was first published in 2007. In 2015, Rosalie Contino republished it with Atlanta-based self-publisher LitFire Publishing. It has also been showcased in book exhibits in the United States and other countries.

About the Author

Rosalie H. Contino, PhD, was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. She attained her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Fordham University and her master’s and doctor’s degrees from New York University. She has worked as a teacher for elementary and junior high school. Now retired, she is a costume designer and consultant, lecturer, playwright, and a published author. She has published poems, articles, and books.
