Taking care of a sick family member is never easy, but Rosalie showed patience, courage, and love. When her brother passed away, she wrote about their story to keep his memory alive.

Actor David Ogden Stiers once said, “Family means no one gets left behind or forgotten.” And that’s exactly what came to Rosalie Contino’s mind when her brother, Bob, got diagnosed with schizophrenia. Although she had to give up a huge portion of her life to attend to Bob, she was able to get a lot of good things from the experience. She tells their journey together in As Life Goes On: Lessons One Doesn’t Want to Have to Learn.
