“The Jumbee’s Daughter,” a thriller set on the Caribbean island of St. Thomas, will be launched in Kindle and paperback June 14 on Amazon.
Readers will discover that the Caribbean islands are not just vacation getaways. They are also spooky places where Jumbees roam – those grouchy spirits of the dead who are not ready to find their way to the Other World. They cause dark mischief, especially to those who mistreated them in life, but generally to anyone who does not close their shutters at night or, worse yet, is wandering a back road in the dark. Which is also a dangerous place to be when drug smugglers are about, fighting turf wars and catching folks in the crossfire. Just ask a local: Jumbees and drug lords are all too real on St. Thomas. It’s the perfect background for adventure and even a bit of island romance (after all; St. Thomas is still home for bikinis).
