“This is an intense book that tells her story about child sex abuse. Anyone who has been through it should read this. It’s also an eye opener for those of us who have had a perfect childhood with much love. I recommend the book to everyone.”

Raised in an era when family secrets were not publicized, author Berit Frydenlund McMillan tells a story of valor, determination, and survival.

In her book, Becoming Berit, McMillan shares her story as a young victim of sexual abuse. She stresses that adults have significant roles in the lives of abused children. She said, “This book is written to raise awareness to an underreported issue. Most children do not willingly share their experiences. It is up to us to act as mentors and advocates to children.”

Furthermore, a reader from Amazon named Carolyn Weist mentions, “This is an intense book that tells her story about child sex abuse. Anyone who has been through it should read this. It’s also an eye opener for those of us who have had a perfect childhood with much love. I recommend the book to everyone.”

To those interested about the book, visit LitFire’s booth at BookExpo America, on May 11–13, 2016, at McCormick Place, Chicago.
