Author Shares Valuable Life Lessons Learned from Family Crisis

Many people make plans to get their lives in order, but what can one do when something completely unexpected happens? When Rosalie Contino received a harsh phone call from her brother’s boss saying that Bob, her sixty-one-year-old brother, had to retire because he had “outlived his usefulness,” she was devastated. In her book, Contino also fondly recalls her memories of the time she was unexpectedly left to care for Bob and reveals the struggles she encountered.

Contino imparts the realizations she made from her time with Bob. She shares the importance of never taking life for granted and allowing time to heal the wounds. Despite the heartbreaking events, several detours, and unpredictable circumstances, life, as the title suggests, goes on.

About the Author

Rosalie H. Contino, PhD, is an Italian American born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. She graduated from Fordham University with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She later pursued both her master’s and doctor’s degrees in educational theater and costume design at New York University. Now retired, she spends her time writing books and plays, designing costumes, and giving lectures.
