Disney Cruise Line Growing it’s Cruise Fleet even bigger! Disney Cruise Line to build two new ships, which will be more than 1,000 feet long and more 200 feet high, said Thomas DeSimone, CEO of Cruisedealership

The announcement was made by Walt Disney CEO Bob Iger in Chicago, IL at the annual stock holders meeting for the company.

Design plans, ship names and itineraries for the new Disney ships are still in the planning stages but are expected to feature the company’s signature activities, shows, decor and venues all based on Disney characters you know and love and Disney story lines.

The Disney ships will be built by the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany. New Disney ships are planned to have about 1,250 guest staterooms -- slightly larger than Disney’s newest ships, Disney Dream, which was launched in 2011 and the Disney Fantasy, launch in 2012. Disney Cruise Line has two other ships as well, Disney Magic, and its first ship, Disney Wonder, which started sailing in 1998.

The first of the new Disney ship is expected to be completed in 2021 and the second Disney ship in 2023, Disney Cruise Line expects.
