Take an Expedition to Wake Island with Two Young World War II Knights

The 2016 Tucson Festival of Books took place last March 12 to 13, 2016, at the University of Arizona. Among many talented authors, publishers, and professionals, Melissa Koons showcased her book, John: The Tale of a Knight, at LitFire’s booth.
 
Drawn to tales of knights and adventure, John Cummings takes an exciting journey with his best friend, Ben Halpert. They join the marines and arrive on Wake Island in the summer of 1941, only to be met with the harsh realities of World War II. The book revolves around the two bold marines as they cope with the conflicts of old secrets and the new threat of war.
 
“I hope my readers will enjoy delving into the story of these two men as much as I enjoyed creating their characters and their world. Their personal journeys and adventures reflect themes throughout history that we all can relate to and draw the reader into their story,” says the author.
 
The book tells a fantastic journey of two daring boys. The story reveals the true natures of war as well as the winsome tales of two young adventurers. A tough one to put down.

About the Author
Melissa Koons earned a BA in English and secondary education. She taught for two years before dedicating herself to being a writer. The author enjoys writing about personal development with exposure to relationships and the outside world. She writes, ghostwrites, and tutors part-time. The author currently has five manuscripts in line for publishing.
