Words of a Victim to Help Battle the Effects of Alcoholism on Others

The foundation of a child’s character is built upon the things they hear and see at home. So what happens when a parent shows an alcoholism problem? This is the subject of Tiffany Traynham Klappenbach’s new book entitled, Life Changes - Growing up with an Alcoholic Father. It talks about the life of the author as she battled her fears and anxieties throughout most of her life because of her father’s drinking problems.

“I was a happy, rambunctious child. My Dad and I had fun together. By the time I reached ten years of age, I noticed changes in our household. I realized he drank alcohol. Dad’s drinking, mostly on weekends, affected me throughout most of my life”, Klappenbach said.

She was bothered by her dad’s problem but she never spoke up in fear of other people’s reactions. Until she’s reached her 50s, a friend suggested that she try therapy. She went for psychological counseling and it worked. She was freed from the negative feelings she’s kept inside for a long time. She’s also allowed Christ to enter her life, which made everything better.

Now, Klappenbach wants to share her challenging journey in the hopes of inspiring others who have experienced the same fate as her. This book is an encouragement for others to believe that there is still hope on healing the wounds that have scarred them for life. They just have to look for a way to solve it and courageously take the first step towards healing and recovery.
