EMSL Analytical / LA Testing Acquires EMS Laboratories, Inc. (EMS)

Effective December 16, 2015, EMSL Analytical, Inc. DBA LA Testing has acquired EMS Laboratories, Inc. (EMS) located in Pasadena, California. Due to its close proximity and the overlap of state accreditations with current EMSL / LA Testing locations in Southern California, the current EMS facility will be consolidated into EMSL Analytical’s network of laboratories in Pasadena, Sierra Madre and Garden Grove. EMSL Analytical has also retained the majority of the EMS staff and offers a seamless transition while continuing to provide excellent quality and customer service.

At its inception in 1968, EMS provided electron microscopy services and held the first contract with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for effluent analysis by TEM. By 1986, they were fully accredited by the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) for all analytes, and became a leading provider of asbestos and industrial hygiene services. With over 40 years’ experience, the acquisition of EMS will add continued expertise in industrial hygiene, asbestos and lead, environmental and hazardous waste, organics and inorganics, particle, trace metal and optical mineralogy testing services.
