We have worked with architects, designers, and property owners all over California and are excited to now be working with real estate developers.

Los Angeles real estate developer, Galena Skya-Wasserman specializes in ground up construction and has recently implemented artificial hedge into one of her current projects. Skya-Wasserman has done many ground up construction rebuilds of single family homes and multiple unit apartment buildings. The homes that are rebuilt on the properties are usually much larger than the structures there before, changing the landscape of the neighborhood. A common term for such properties is “McMansion.”

“I specialize in ground up construction, meaning that we buy properties, demolish the existing structures, and build new structures from the ground up,” Skya-Wasserman said. Her company, Skya Ventures has done two extensive rebuilds in the North Hollywood/Toluca Lake area in Los Angeles that have really upped the ante when it comes to property value in the neighborhood. One of the homes was chosen as home of the week by the Los Angeles Times, and was listed for $1.29 million. That home sold quickly and then Skya Ventures started work on the property next door.

“I chose to cover the back wall of an adjoining property with artificial  hedge, to make the whole backyard more appealing. I had seen the artificial hedge on a wall at a sandwich shop I frequent in Encino, and I thought it would be perfect for my project,” said Skya-Wasserman. That Sandwich shop, Which Wich on Ventura Boulevard in Encino has artificial hedge on its storefront. The artificial plant company, Geranium Street Floral, of San Marcos installed the artificial hedge there.

Geranium Street Floral has built custom artificial boxwood hedges at locations all over Southern California, including the Which Wich restaurant, and many others.  “We have worked with architects, designers, and property owners all over California and are excited to now be working with real estate developers,” said Geranium Street president, Bob Smith. “These new homes are often much bigger than neighboring older homes and privacy becomes an issue. Our artificial plants can provide a solution,” added Smith.

Geranium Street Floral has a whole range of artificial plant products, including 18’ tall artificial palm trees, artificial bushes, artificial boxwood hedges, and a variety of artificial trees. Most of the products are used for decorative and practical purposes. They can be used as a privacy screen, for graffiti prevention, and to block unsightly views. Such was the case at the North Hollywood project developed by Skya Ventures. The artificial hedge increased the privacy and blocked out an unsightly wall of an adjoining property.
