Powerful Allegory about Life in Dictatorship is coming to Guadalajara

Originally written in Spanish, Horacio A. Heranandez’s “The Incredible Wedding of a Dictator” offering a plethora of literary elements, will be displayed to the public during the Guadalajara International Book Fair in Mexico.
 
“The Incredible Wedding of a Dictator” is a mock epic with satirical and allegorical perspectives about a dictator and his evil influences. Set in one of the first European settlements in the Americas, the book follows the development of the dictator of Dolorosa. Through the dictator’s story, readers will understand the relationship between man and his environment. Readers are shown how one man, through cruel and repressive acts, can change the lives of many families, and reshape one’s culture and land.
 
Although the book’s subject is one tough reality that numerous people have to face, it also offers a flavorful method of broaching the subject. His book is a mixture of historical fiction, philology, magical realism, religion, mythology, and folklore.
 
Literary enthusiasts who are interested in “The Incredible Wedding of a Dictator” can catch it on display at the 2015 Guadalajara Book Fair. The international book fair will be held on November 28 to December 6, 2015 at the Exhibition Center: Expo Guadalajara, Mexico.

About the Author
Horacio A. Hernandez was born in Sabana de la Mar, Dominican Republic. He received his M.A and Ph.D in Spanish and Latin American Literature from State University of New York. Dr. Hernandez spent 10 years working as a Spanish language trainer and technical coordinator for the Peace Corps. Since 2003, he has worked as a professor of Spanish Language and Literature in Montreat College, NC.
