PALO ALTO, Calif. – WEBWIRE

It’s 2015 and the future has arrived. Smart machines are everywhere in our lives -- cars, homes, pockets and more -- and our relationships with them are more complicated than ever. That’s why today, api.ai, the leading conversational platform for apps, devices and the web, and the company behind Assistant.ai, the most highly rated virtual assistant app in the world, unveils the results of the first ever Virtual Assistant Report.

“Virtual assistants are the friendly interface to the artificial brains we’ve been promised for 50+ years,” explains Wolfram Research CEO and Api.ai advisor Stephen Wolfram. “Will the A.I.s take over? If people like us do our job right, the A.I.s will always be computing what we should do — -and we’ll end up just doing what they tell us.”

api.ai surveyed more than 12,000 users of the app Assistant.ai during the month of July 2015 to learn about how users in US and Canada use and feel about digital assistants. The below results are the most comprehensive look at humanity’s evolving attitude toward robots and digital assistants.
