Although it is, in fact, a work of fiction, some readers have looked at it as sneak peek to the Vatican.

Published in November 2014, the book, “Kidnapping the Pope,” which is the fruit of Leonard F. Badia and Michael F. Capobianco’s combined efforts, has received mixed reactions from intrigued readers. This year, it is set to join the wide array of books to be featured at the annual Frankfurt International Book Fair.

In the story, an alliance is formed with the purpose of kidnapping the pope and replacing him with a look-alike, who will steer the church into a liberal direction. When the real pope’s hiding place was discovered by Carlo Maestoso, he and his allies try to stop Delgli Alfieri and the fake pope. However, a demented woman is waiting for the pope, with a stun gun in her backpack.

At the end of the book, readers discover who among the two popes is killed.

Although it is, in fact, a work of fiction, some readers have looked at it as sneak peek to the Vatican. A review written by J.C. Gorman on Amazon says that the book is an “interesting insider’s look at the Vatican.”

Just last month, POD self-publishing house and marketing solutions provider, LitFire Publishing, displayed the book in their booth at the Frankfurt International Book Fair (FIBF) last October 14 to 18 of 2015.
