TestAmerica to Instruct on Leaching Environmental Assessment Framework (LEAF) Methods at Philadelphia Conference

Pittsburgh, PA – WEBWIRE

TestAmerica experts Patricia McIsaac and Larry Matko will participate in presenting a short course on Leaching Environmental Assessment Framework (LEAF) Methods at the third annual RE3 conference in Philadelphia on September 15, 2015.  The presentation will focus on the following aspects of the next generation leaching framework:

  • The environmental chemistry of LEAF methods and suggested strategies for interaction with the laboratory to ensure the attainment of project specific goals
  • The superiority of LEAF methods for leachability studies outside of the original intent and applicability of TCLP and SPLP methodology
  • LEAF as a tool in remedial applications for Coal Combustion Residuals and other solidification and stabilization projects.

Ms. McIsaac has more than 35 years’ experience in the environmental testing industry, and serves as TestAmerica’s Dredged Material, Sediment and Tissue expert.  Larry Matko, a Technical Director at TestAmerica, has leveraged his 25 years’ experience in the laboratory to develop and implement LEAF methods.  TestAmerica’s state of the art facility in Pittsburgh, PA was the first commercial laboratory in the United States to offer LEAF testing methods and has been offering the next generation methods for the past 3 years.

RE3 is the first conference in the nation focused on applied methods and technology used in the treatment of heavy metals and organics.  The conference provides developers, site owners, investors and environmental professionals with the opportunity to connect and promote the development of Brownfield properties through real world remediation technology and methods.
