· IP convergence offers the opportunity to deliver new compelling personalised messaging and media services
· New services will increase subscriber usage and operator revenues across Middle East and globally

Dublin/GSM Middle East & Gulf, 11th September 2006 – In the face of an increasingly converged communications environment, Jinny Software, a leading global supplier of messaging and media processing platforms to mobile network operators, has repositioned and enhanced its product portfolio to bring compelling personalised messaging and media services to subscribers in order to add value and increase operator revenues.

Max Wilkie, CEO at Jinny, believes that convergence on IP as a common transport protocol is set to transform messaging on both legacy (2G, 3G) and future (IMS) networks. “In the new landscape of hybrid and IMS networks, both business users and consumers will favour those providers that offer an intuitive personalised multimedia user experience. This scenario is currently as pertinent to the Middle East’s more stable and sophisticated networks, as it is to other developed mobile markets across the globe.

“We believe that service providers will increasingly use IMS-based solutions to create fresh value propositions to drive new revenue streams and to cut operational expenditure. Jinny’s repositioning and the additions to its product portfolio will enable service providers anywhere to deliver personalised messaging and media services to subscribers across all legacy, hybrid and future networks. Our product range, which is built to open standards, is designed to drive these new converged messaging revenues,” Wilkie states.
In all, the company now has four solution areas – Messaging, Media, Rating & Charging, and Routing & Filtering. The company’s Rating & Charging solution enables operators to rate and charge messages, ringtones, ringback tones, WAP browsing, games downloads and video streaming, whilst also offering subscribers tailored data price plans. Subscribers can choose what messages they receive from whom, and how, when and where they receive content and services.
To complement its existing and established product set, Jinny will introduce additional platforms, which will allow the company to offer robust media and personalisation capabilities, the latter being at the heart of Jinny’s converged solution offerings. This enables advanced, customised services to be offered that capture a subscriber’s preferences in real-time, and draws on user profiles gained from contextual network data based on historic usage.

Wilkie concludes, “Convergence in the messaging space is a challenge that has to be addressed immediately as subscribers become more demanding and knowledgeable. By addressing convergence in messaging through our product portfolio Jinny places itself in a leading position to support the needs of service providers, mobile network operators and virtual network operators, anywhere in the world, well into the future of this increasingly IMS-oriented world.”
Commenting on the company’s repositioning, Declan O’Mahony, Chief Commercial Officer, based at Jinny’s Regional Headquarters in Dubai said, “Jinny has been at the forefront of messaging in the Middle East for many years. We have been developing solutions for the convergent messaging market since early 2000 and have pioneered many of these together with key operators in the region. This repositioning solidifies our vision of convergent messaging and media and will bring robust solutions to support our customers through this evolutionary period”.
