Shangri-La Hotel, Tianjin Celebrates its 1st Anniversary

Shangri-La Hotel, Tianjin celebrated its 1st anniversary on 8 August 2015. Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts opened its 85th hotel in China’s largest northern port city in August 2014. Shangri-La Hotel, Tianjin sits on the bank of the Haihe River in the new Hedong District, overlooking Tianjin’s signature architecture dating from the 19th century. The hotel owns a convenient location 5 minutes from the city’s central business district and 10 minutes from the Tianjin Railway Station.

The hotel contains 304 spacious rooms, ranging from one of the largest deluxe rooms in the city, the 48-square-metre Deluxe River View Room, to the 240-square-metre Shangri-La Suite. In addition to its guestrooms, the hotel offers 39 serviced apartments. All guestrooms overlook the Haihe River, and the executive Horizon Club Lounge on Level 32 offers panoramic views of the city. Shangri-La’s complimentary Wi-Fi service is available throughout the hotel. The hotel is fully integrated within Tianjin Kerry Centre and is the only five-star international hotel in the city connected to a shopping mall, River View Place, which houses multiple dining and entertainment venues and the largest of Shangri-La and Kerry’s Adventure Zones for kids.

A grand appreciation cocktail party was hosted on 8 August 2015 and around 200 hotel guests, valued clients and media attended and celebrated together. There was a 6 meters long display board in the lobby recording the great happenings of Shangri-La Hotel, Tianjin since its pre-opening.


In addition, the pastry kitchen team of Shangri-La Hotel, Tianjin made all efforts to create a large chocolate anniversary cake, 5 meters long and 5 meters wide. This large hotel model cake, created in equal proportion according to the exterior body of the hotel building, received high praise from our guests. A charity bazaar with the anniversary cake was held during the event. If the guests would like to contribute, each one pound cake slice would be RMB500, which was equal to the cost of a wheelchair that would be donated to local citizens who deeply need to continue to make their lives better with the assistance of Tianjin Hedong Disabled Person’s Federation. On 8 August 2015, the total funds raised from the charity birthday cake sale was RMB16,120, and 33 wheelchairs were donated!


With the attractive live band performance, 200 guests indulged in a cocktail party and lucky draw event on the beautiful night.
