Kids crafting event takes place Saturday, July 25 at all Jo-Ann stores nationwide.

Hudson, Ohio – WEBWIRE

In celebration of the launch of the We Made It by Jennifer Garner line of creative kits for active kids, Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores, the leading fabric and craft specialty retailer in America, is hosting a free Make It-Take It event for kids on Saturday, July 25, from 2 to 3 p.m. at all Jo-Ann stores nationwide. With the guidance of Jo-Ann Team Members, kids will have the opportunity to create two Bookworm Bookmarks – one for themselves and one to donate to Save the Children.

“The idea of giving is central to We Made It by Jennifer Garner, so providing kids an opportunity to not only create but also make a donation to Save the Children really reinforces the underlying values of the line,” said Beth Shivak, manager of special events for Jo-Ann. “The Bookworm Bookmarks we will be crafting are so cute and will definitely brighten the day of the boys and girls with whom Save the Children shares them.”

At the event, kids will have the opportunity to craft a Bookworm Bookmark – googly eyes and all – with the help of a Jo-Ann Team Member. The event will last as long as supplies do, or until 3 p.m. – so come early!

We Made It by Jennifer Garner is a collection of more than 100 creative kits ranging in price from $3 to $50 designed to promote imaginative exploration among children ages 4 to 11. The kits feature four creative categories, each encouraging inspiration and shared fun in a different way: Grow, Memorable, Playful and Sweet.

As Artist Ambassador and trustee, Garner advocates for Save the Children’s early education programs with the goal of ensuring that every child in America has access to quality education from cradle to cap and gown. The donated Bookworm Bookmarks will be distributed in those efforts. In June, Jo-Ann made a monetary donation to Save the Children in conjunction with the product launch.

“Save the Children is grateful to Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores for supporting our Invest in Childhood campaign to ensure that every child gets an early start on learning and a chance for a better tomorrow,” said Carolyn Miles, president and CEO of Save the Children. “By empowering parents, who are their children’s first and most important teachers, to read, play and get creative with their little ones, we are laying the foundation for a bright and successful future.”
