ACAC Director Publishes Feature Article in IAQ Industry Magazine

Phoenix/Arizona/USA – WEBWIRE

Adam Andrews, director of operations for the American Council for Accredited Certification (ACAC), has published an article explaining the benefits of accredited certifications for individuals addressing issues in the indoor environment.

The piece appears as a feature article in the May 2015 edition of Healthy Indoors Magazine, an online journal devoted to indoor environmental consulting and remediation.

Other pieces by Andrews have appeared in Cleaning & Restoration magazine, Indoor Environment Connections and a variety of industry newsletters, fact sheets and white papers.

In the Healthy Indoors article, Andrews explains that certifications approved by nationally recognized third-party accreditation bodies function as a dependable currency in transactions between consumers and IAQ professionals.  By providing reliable information about a professional’s qualifications, they protect the interests of consumers who might otherwise fall prey to unscrupulous operators.  By utilizing the national reputation of a third-party accreditation body, they allow qualified professionals to market their services more efficiently.

Andrews notes that very few certification programs specific to the indoor environmental industry have achieved national third-party accreditation.  ACAC certifications are the notable exception, however.  Nineteen ACAC designations are accredited by the Council of Engineering and Scientific Specialty Boards (CESB), while two are also accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA).

Adam Andrews has been writing on issues related to certification, indoor air quality and the evironmental industry since 2002.  He serves as director of operations for The American Council for Accredited Certification (ACAC), an independent, non-profit certifying body founded in 1992 to serve the indoor air quality industry.  ACAC offers third-party accredited personnel certifications in fields related to indoor environmental consulting, remediation and management.
