Ubisense CTO of Geospatial Technology to Present at the Pacific Northwest Geospatial Information & Technology Association’s 2015 Annual Conference

Ubisense Group plc (AIM: UBI), a leader in enterprise location intelligence solutions, today announced its CTO of geospatial technology, Peter Batty, will present at the annual PNWGITA conference being held next week outside of Seattle. Batty will present “The Consumerization of Geospatial,” on April 20 as part of the opening session.
 
Like many industries, the consumerization of geospatial technology is driving change across the utility industry as companies gain access to new and more data and applications that can be leveraged to improve their operations. During his session, Batty will explore several useful functions derived from integrating data sources within an enterprise system and the multitude of benefits that can be achieved based on real deployments by utility companies. He will also discuss the challenges associated with integrating cloud-based commercial systems with existing complex systems like GIS, outage management systems (OMS) and work management systems (WMS), and what needs to be considered to drive widespread adoption within utilities.

About the Speaker
Peter Batty has worked in the geospatial industry for nearly 30 years and is considered an industry expert in the field. He is a co-founder and the CTO of geospatial technology of Ubisense. Previously he served as the CTO of Intergraph and the vice president of technology for Smallworld, now part of GE Energy. Batty earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and a master’s degree in computation both from Oxford University.
