USA Funds’ Carol D’Amico joins U.S. Conference of Mayors Business Council

Forum engages mayors and private-sector representatives

INDIANAPOLIS – WEBWIRE

Carol D’Amico, USA Funds executive vice president, National Engagement and Philanthropy, has been selected to represent USA Funds on The U.S. Conference of Mayors Business Council.

The USCM Business Council was established to formally engage the business community with the Conference, and includes representatives of more than 100 major organizations. The Council serves as an in-depth, exclusive forum for mayors and representatives from the private sector to share research and showcase innovative partnerships in an effort to address the many challenges cities face today.

“We are pleased to add Carol’s expertise in designing and leading strategies related to higher education, workforce development, and business-led involvement in education reform,” said Tom Cochran, CEO and executive director of The U.S. Conference of Mayors.

Since joining USA Funds in August 2013, D’Amico has led USA Funds’ national and state-based philanthropic initiatives in higher education and workforce development. During the past year, USA Funds awarded more than $20 million in grants to advance its focus on Completion With a Purpose, promoting student success in college and career.

Through the U.S. Conference of Mayors/USA Funds National Education Pathways With a Purpose initiative, USA Funds will recognize three cities that demonstrate exemplary efforts to increase postsecondary attainment, aligned with the economic and workforce development needs of their communities. Applications for three competitive grants that the U.S. Conference of Mayors will award as part of the initiative are available from www.usmayors.org/pathwayswithapurpose. Initial applications are due April 3.
