AFL’s FOCIS Flex Fiber Optic Connector Inspection System Receives 2015 Lightwave Innovation Award

With a score of 3.5 in the Field Test Equipment category, the FOCIS Flex was recognized as an excellent product with technical features and performance that provides clear and substantial benefits to customers.



AFL’s FOCIS Flex is used to inspect fiber optic systems for dirty or damaged connectors during network installations, troubleshooting and maintenance as well as verify that connectors are clean and are operating at optimal performance levels. Additionally, the inspector system has one button that controls auto-focus and auto-centering, applies pass/fail rules, displays the image and pass/fail results, and wirelessly transfers the image and results via Bluetooth to a paired FLX380 or OFL280 FlexTester.

The 2015 Lightwave Innovation Awards mark the second year of the optical communications technology recognition program. To participate in the program technology developers submit their products to be judged by professionals who are knowledgeable in the relevant technology or application. Awards are given before the Optical Fiber Communication Conference and Exposition, March 24-26 in Los Angeles, Calif., where AFL will be exhibiting in booth 412.
