PSC Acquires TechAmerica Foundation

Arlington, VA – WEBWIRE

CompTIA and the Professional Services Council (PSC) announced an agreement under which PSC acquires the TechAmerica Foundation, including its Vision Forecast and Conference, Defense Strategic Planning Forum, annual CIO survey and the American Technology Awards. CompTIA acquired the foundation and those activities when it acquired TechAmerica last spring. This transaction is effective immediately.

“This transaction will enhance PSC’s effectiveness and our ability to deliver greater value to our members,” said PSC President and CEO Stan Soloway. “The TechAmerica Foundation, its programs and research are all highly regarded. Moreover, they naturally align with our mission and our organizational model. As such, there is enormous potential to build on those legacies and we are committed to doing so.”

While best known for the annual Vision Forecast and Conference, the TechAmerica Foundation also conducts a widely read annual survey of federal chief information officers, hosts a major technology awards dinner, and has convened numerous research projects to examine critical technology issues within the federal sector.  All of those activities will continue under PSC.

“As we evaluated our strategic direction, we recognized that the activities of the TechAmerica Foundation could be better served by an organization aligned to maximize the value of these key resources,” said CompTIA President and CEO Todd Thibodeaux. “We committed ourselves to ensuring the future of Vision and the other associated foundation programs and, even more importantly, to doing all we could to support the terrific people associated with the foundation and its work.  We are pleased that PSC was able to take on these programs, which will benefit the members that are part of the sector. This transaction is the ideal fit to continue these signature programs.”

“PSC’s mission is to be the most effective and valued resource for the federal technology and professional services sector,” said Soloway. “This transaction brings us another step closer to achieving that goal. We greatly appreciate that CompTIA, like PSC, came to the table committed to finding a solution that is in the best interests of our collective memberships.”
