Media Outlets Praise the Acer Chromebook 15

Acer’s debut of the industry’s first 15.6-inch Chromebook, the Acer Chromebook 15, has been widely acclaimed by the media during CES last week. The Chromebook 15, which boots in 7 seconds and provides 9 hours of battery life1, won several awards from tech media at CES and nearly all the coverage highlighted Acer’s leadership position in this market.

Some of the notable points of coverage include:
CNET’s “Most Innovative Computers of CES 2015” featured the Chromebook 15 and discussed that this first 15.6-inch model may change consumers’ expectations on what a Chromebook can do, in addition to the improved performance and availability of full HD display.

Wired published its “Top Picks from CES 2015” that included the Chromebook 15. The story noted, “Once solely the domain of early tech adopters, Chromebooks have hit the big time. Really big. Pocket-lint picked the Chromebook 15 for the“Best laptops and tablets of CES 2015” and noted that this 15.6-inch laptop wants to bring the bigger screen experience to Google’s Chrome OS.”

Paste named the Chromebook 15 one of “The 10 Best Gadgets from CES 2015,” “… the device has a 15.6” display, a choice of 16GB or 32GB SSD drive and a choice of 2GB or 4GB of RAM…  at a price of $249, it’s already sounding like one of the best Chromebooks yet.”

The Verge in “This is the year to buy a laptop” notes, “When it comes to the budget ‘buy something for your parents’ market, this new laptop is the most significant new entrant in years... Acer’s laptop is also well-made and has a design that doesn’t betray its budget aspirations.”

Slashgear noted, “Acer’s Chromebook 15 is just what Chrome OS needs.”
