Insteon Collaborates with Nest to Deliver the Best in Home Automation

Insteon Works with Nest Integration Brings Heralded Nest Thermostats into the Universe of Insteon Connected Home Products

Irvine, Calif. and Las Vegas – WEBWIRE

Insteon®, creators of the world’s premier home automation and control technology, today announced it has joined the Works with Nest program to deliver powerful integration between the highly acclaimed Nest Learning Thermostat™ and the widely-adopted Insteon home-control networking universe of more than 200 products.

With the Insteon Hub and the Insteon iOS or Android app, customers can now control their Nest Thermostats, along with hundreds of affordable Insteon products including light bulbs, wall switches, wall outlets, cameras, sensors and more. Insteon is now an official Works with Nest product, and Nest customers can benefit from access to a simple and reliable connected home experience that can be powered by a single app from anywhere in the world.

“We’re excited to team with Nest to bring more options and tremendous convenience to Nest and Insteon customers around the world,” said Insteon CEO Joe Dada. “The ability to remotely control and monitor the Nest Thermostat can now be extended to the widest offering of connected devices on the market. The Works with Nest integration also allows homes and businesses already running Insteon systems to seamlessly add Nest Thermostats and do it all from a single app. This is a win-win for both Insteon and Nest customers.”

Insteon is also supporting Nest’s Rush Hour Rewards™ program, which will give Nest Thermostat owners the option to include any home product controlled by Insteon, including lighting and appliances, into the program by automatically turning those products down or off during times when energy prices are highest. Rush Hour Rewards aims to help people earn money or credits from their energy providers by using less energy when everyone else is using more.

The Works with Nest integration will be publicly available January 6 in Insteon’s iOS and Android apps, followed by Windows tablet and Windows Phone apps in the coming months. The Rush Hour Rewards feature will also be available in the coming months. Insteon and Nest products are available from major retailers including Best Buy, Home Depot and Amazon.
