EagleBank Foundation Sponsors Cash Donation Boxes for The Children’s Inn at NIH

Starting  this  holiday  season,  EagleBank  customers  can give  a  gift  of  hope to  seriously  ill  children  and  their  families  who  are staying  at  The  Children’s  Inn  at  NIH.    The  Inn  is  a  nonprofit  “place  like  home”for  children  participating  in  leading-­‐edge  studies  at  the  National  Institutes  of  Health  (NIH),  the  nation’s  premier  medical  research  agency.  

There  will  be  cash  collection boxes  available  in  every  EagleBank  branch  throughout  the  coming  year,  in  celebration  of  the 25th anniversary  of  The  Children’s  Inn,  which  opened  its  doors  in  June1990.

The  Inn’s  mission  is  to  keep  families  together  during  their  children’s  treatments,  reduce  stress,  and  facilitate  healing  through  the  mutual  support  of  other  families  facing  similar  situations.    Although it  is located  on  the  Federal  campus  of  the  NIH,  The  Children’s  Inn  is  a  private,  nonprofit organization,  primarily  sustained  by  donations.Families  come  from  across  the  country  and  around  the  world  to  stay  together  at  The  Inn  –free  of  charge  – no  matter  how  long  they  need  to  stay.  The  Inn  gives  kids  a  chance  to  be  kids,  takes  their  minds  off  their  illness,  while  pushing  the  bounds  of  medical  research  

“We  are  so  grateful  to  our  friends  at  EagleBank  and  the  EagleBank  Foundation  for  their  amazing,  generous  support  of  the  children  and  families  we  serve,”  says  Kathy  L.  Russell,  The  Inn’s  Chief  Executive  Officer.  “The  new  donation  boxes are  just  one  more  example  of  the  many  ways  EagleBank  has  supported  The  Inn  over  the  years.”
