Transmedia Capital Entrepreneur-In-Residence Calvin Liu and artist-designer Melanie Picardo were looking for a way to bring more honest communication to their relationships with friends and created the app during an intensive seminar with marketing guru Seth Godin. In the future, Outpour plans to expand the subjects of appreciative messages beyond people, including to organizations, items, places and events. Imagine being able to share appreciative messages for a presenter at a demo day, a favorite record, a local restaurant, or a company holiday party.
