Lansing, MI – WEBWIRE

Becoming a CIH is one New Year’s resolution that will provide professional benefits for years to come.

For those industrial hygiene professionals who want to take their career to the next level, an important date is just two months away.  February 1st is the deadline to submit a completed application to be eligible to take the spring 2015 CIH examination.

Each year, the American Board of Industrial Hygiene® (ABIH®) offers two exam windows: April-May and October-November.  Successful applicants who have been approved to take the exam and have paid their exam fee can schedule to take the CIH exam anytime within those timeframes. The allotted time for the exam, which consists of 200 items, is 5.5 hours with an optional break between the two sections of the exam.  ABIH has contracted with Prometric Testing to provide convenient exam locations throughout the United States, Canada and in many countries across the globe.

“Becoming a CIH is one New Year’s resolution that will provide professional benefits for years to come,” said Tracy Parsons, CIH, Administrative Program Manager at the American Board of Industrial Hygiene.  “We encourage those planning to take the spring exam to submit their completed application soon.  For those who are unable to sit for the exam in April or May, the application due date for the fall 2015 CIH exam is August 1st.”

ABIH provides those interested in the CIH program with a clear path to success.  An overview of the process and a simple self-assessment tool is provided on the ABIH web site: www.abih.org/become-certified.
