HackerRank Announces Re-engineer, an Event That Cracks the Code of Technical Recruiting

Featuring speakers from LinkedIn, Yelp and Box, the first ever Re-engineer will take place in San Francisco on Tuesday, September 23rd at the SF Green Space from 2pm to 6pm

PALO ALTO, Calif. – WEBWIRE

Today, HackerRank , the platform used by programmers to hone their skills and by companies to recruit great tech talent is announcing Re-engineer , the company’s first event focused solely on sharing best practices of technical recruiting through real stories, expert insight and decades of industry experience.

HackerRank has tapped some of the top technical recruiters in the valley to share their knowledge at the event, and include:

  • Tim Wenzel , Managing Partner at KA Search, former Director of Staffing & HR at PayPal and VP of HR & Administration at Tesla Motors

  • Hong Hu , CTO and cofounder of 500 Friends

  • Brendan Browne , head of recruiting at LinkedIn

  • Eli Alberts, technical recruiter at Yelp

  • Harry Dannenbaum , technical recruiter at Box

The event will address topics ranging from how to first build your initial engineering team by attracting global talent, to the challenges in scaling your team -- using Tesla and PayPal as case studies -- and then also dive into how data is changing recruiting in general.

“It’s been so gratifying over the last year seeing our mission of making tech hiring a meritocracy resonate so deeply with our customers.” said Vivek Ravisankar, CEO and cofounder of HackerRank. “In this spirit, the inaugural Re-Engineer is all about bringing out best practices in finding great developers wherever they are, and at whatever stage your company is at.”

HackerRank’s mission is to solve the problems of identifying the right hires and objectively measuring engineering skill of software developers, making talent -- irrespective of schooling, gender or location -- what counts. The company is helping level the playing field for companies--like Amazon, Riot Games, and Quora--recruit across the globe in any industry, from tech, to gaming, to finance,  giving everyone an equal opportunity to compete for top technical jobs -- truly making the world flat.
