A Bit of "Green" and "Bling" Headed to New York City

2006-08-23 - Chevrolet and MTV to Unveil First-Ever Fleet of Customized E85 Chevrolet Vehicles and “Pimped-Out” Chevy Tahoe Concept; Announce Unique Partnership

Chevrolet and MTV look to announce a partnership that will bring a bit of “green” and “bling” to the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards to be held August 31 at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. Media are invited to get a sneak peek at the first-ever customized fleet of E85 compatible Chevrolet vehicles tailored to an Awards show. The fleet collaboration for the 2006 VMAs is designed to help educate viewers on E85 ethanol technology in an effort to raise awareness about reducing greenhouse gas emissions and curbing dependence on fossil fuels.

Joining the fleet of “MTV Video Music Awards Chevy E85” vehicles in transporting talent to the Awards telecast will be a brand new, one-of-a-kind Chevy Tahoe Concept SUV designed by award-winning automotive designer Chip Foose and Unique Performance Concepts.

The Chevy Tahoe Concept and two of the lightly-customized E85 vehicles will be unveiled with the help of a costumed Apollo astronaut character paying homage to the award statues presented annually at the MTV Video Music Awards. At the press event, details of the unique partnership between Chevrolet and the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards will be revealed as well as news on E85 refueling of the Fleet in New York.
